As a Lifecycle Marketing Manager at Spellbook, you’ll play a key role in driving user engagement, retention, and expansion across our customer base. You’ll develop and execute lifecycle marketing campaigns with a strong focus on increasing net revenue retention and customer activation while contributing to user experience improvements. Your work will ensure that users receive valuable, timely content, whether through email or other digital channels. You’ll use a data-driven approach to measure and optimize the entire customer journey.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Campaign Strategy & Execution:
Design, implement, and optimize lifecycle marketing campaigns that drive customer activation, retention, and expansion. Focus on low-touch accounts to increase net revenue retention and product engagement at scale.Email Marketing:
Create high-converting, personalized email campaigns targeting specific customer segments to drive engagement and product adoption.Onboarding & Product Experience:
Identify customer pain points to develop onboarding flows, documentation, and product experience enhancements to ensure new users understand the value of Spellbook and how to use it, driving quicker adoption and long-term retention.Customer Retention:
Build targeted campaigns that address leading churn indicators, educate users on product features, and encourage account expansion.Data-Driven Optimization:
Leverage customer data and analytics to design iterative experiments and continuously test and refine marketing strategies, improving and routinely reporting on key lifecycle metrics such as activation, engagement, and retention rates.Collaboration:
Work closely with Marketing, Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success teams to align lifecycle marketing strategies with company goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of experience in lifecycle or email marketing, preferably within a SaaS, B2C or B2B environment.
Proven track record of creating high-performing email campaigns and driving customer retention strategies.
Strong understanding of customer segmentation, A/B testing, and data analysis to optimize marketing performance.
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work in a fast-paced startup environment.
Proactive communication skills to effectively collaborate and achieve buy-in for marketing initiatives up, down, and across the organization
Excellent copywriting skills, with a focus on describing technical product features with clear, compelling messaging.
Experience with marketing automation & email platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Mailchimp, Outreach, etc.), and user analytics tools (e.g. Mixpanel).
Attention to detail and basic understanding of visual design to independently craft customer-facing materials
