ABOUT THE ROLE:

As the Senior Designer at Spellbook, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our brand identity and visual storytelling while rolling up your sleeves to produce high-quality marketing collateral across the organization. You’ll help customers fall in love with Spellbook and shape Spellbook into a premium brand that’s impossible to ignore. This is a unique opportunity to be the first designer on board, collaborating closely with our small, dynamic marketing team to drive engagement and brand recognition. You'll be the voice for design, building impactful creative while influencing the overall visual direction of the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Working closely with our marketing team to help evolve our new brand identity across all channels and customer touchpoints. You’ll be responsible for bringing our brand and storytelling to life in every new initiative.

  • Diving deep into execution to build visual assets for all our channels, including ads, social posts, web pages, event collateral, sales material, emails, presentation decks, and more.

  • Designing responsive, high-converting landing pages and other web content for sales and marketing.

  • Developing creative campaign concepts and product launch materials to showcase the value of Spellbooks in a smart, impactful, and pixel-perfect manner.

  • Working cross-functionally with product designers to ensure a consistent brand feel from marketing to product.

  • Simplifying complex product features into clear, enticing product imagery to help customers quickly understand how Spellbook works and how it will revolutionize their workflow.

  • Supporting the design needs of teams across the organization, including our customer success, recruiting, and people teams.

  • Managing the development of creative work from start to finish, working on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Working closely with freelancers or agencies where applicable to keep new projects on brand.

  • Consistently applying imaginative thinking and creative problem-solving to address business challenges. You’ll always design with strategy and customers in mind.

THIS MIGHT BE YOU IF:

  • You have a minimum of 5+ years of conversion-focused marketing design experience and brand development (in-house or a mix of agency and in-house).

  • You have experience bringing a new brand to life or have taken an existing brand identity to new heights.

  • You design with strategy and customers in mind at all times. Not only do you visually elevate everything you touch, but your designs and ideas are strategically driven.

  • You have a stunning portfolio that showcases a range of your marketing design work and your ability to adapt your design style to different audiences. Your work is industry-leading, cutting-edge, and aesthetically pleasing.

  • No job is too big or too small for you to tackle. You can move from building a brand identity to designing a social post in one day.

  • You believe in testing and iterative design, and use results to shape new design ideas.

  • You are proficient with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and other tools and an expert in foundational design principles.

  • You have worked in a fast-paced, start-up environment where you’ve been responsible for delivering high-quality marketing materials. You are a complete joy to work with and have experience working with different departments across an organization, including working alongside other creatives, copywriters, and marketers.

  • You’re driven, self-directed, and take a proactive approach to building plans and completing projects independently. You can take a simple marketing idea and bring it to life in a beautiful, engaging, and effective way.

NICE TO HAVES:

  • Experience building motion graphics and video

  • Working in tech as a marketing designer or in a brand/advertising agency.

  • Skilled copywriter who not only engages customers with enticing designs and creative concepts but also with effective copywriting to round out their designs.
